It looks like the sweet taste of Android 15 might be closer than you think. While we can’t say for sure when the final, stable version will drop, the clues are pointing to an earlier-than-usual release.

Let’s do a quick recap: Google typically unveils a new Android version alongside its Pixel flagship launch in October. The Pixel 8 was announced on October 4, 2023 alongside Android 14. The Pixel 7 on October 13, 2022 alongside Android 13, and the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro in October 2021 with Android 12 pre-installed. Clearly, October has been the magic month. However, this year, the Pixel 9 series is breaking the mold with an August 13 launch date. This unexpected shift has sent ripples of excitement through the Android community, and for good reason.

The Pixel 9 series will be powered by Android 15 out of the box. And considering Google’s history of releasing new Pixel phones shortly after pre-orders open, we’re betting that the Pixel 9 series will hit shelves sometime in late August or early September. And if the millions of rumors and leaks we’ve seen are true and history repeats itself, Android 15 should tag along for the ride.

Now, we know what you’re thinking: “Hold on a second, this is just speculation!” And you’re absolutely right. None of this is official, just a well-educated guess based on the patterns we’ve seen. But the fact that Android 15 is already in Beta 4 with a hotfix under its belt suggests Google is putting the pedal to the metal. Remember when Android 14 dragged its feet with multiple Beta 5 versions? Yeah, this feels different.

So, while we can’t promise anything, the signs are pointing to an Android 15 bonanza for owners of the Pixel 8 series and older sooner rather than later.
