Google’s upcoming Pixel Watch 3 is set to bring significant improvements over its predecessor, according to an exclusive report from Android Authority. The leak, attributed to a source inside Google, unveils several key upgrades for the smartwatch.

The Pixel Watch 3 will be available in two sizes: 41mm and 45mm, both offering cellular and Wi-Fi variants. The devices will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 platform with a custom co-processor, similar to the Pixel Watch 2.

One of the most notable upgrades is the reduction in bezel size. Both models will feature 4.5mm bezels, down from 5.5mm on the Pixel Watch 2. This addresses a common criticism of previous models. The displays will also be brighter, with a declared brightness of 2,000 nits, double that of the Pixel Watch 2.

The 41mm model will retain the 310mAh battery of its predecessor, while the 45mm version will house a larger 420mAh cell. Display sizes have increased, with the 41mm model featuring a 32x32mm screen (up from 30x30mm) and the 45mm variant boasting a 36x36mm display.

Another significant addition is Ultra-Wideband (UWB) support, which could enable precise device finding and potentially allow the watch to be used as a digital car key.

The Pixel Watch 3 will come in various color options. The 41mm model will be available in silver, black, and gold cases with different colored bands, including a new “Rose Quartz” option. The 45mm version will offer Hazel, black, and silver case colors.

Google is expected to unveil the Pixel Watch 3 alongside the Pixel 9 family at its annual hardware event, scheduled for August 13 this year.
