While we already knew about its coming, a new Google Messages support page reveals an exciting feature is on the horizon for Google Pixel and other Android users: Selfie GIFs. These short, 3-second looping videos promise to add a playful, personal touch to your text conversations.

The process is simple, Google notes. Within a Google Messages chat, you’ll be able to long-press the camera icon, triggering the Selfie GIF option. You can also look for a special prompt popping up within your conversation. A handy countdown will give you a few seconds to strike your pose before the automatic 3-second recording begins.

Want more control? You can tap the red button to start and stop your Selfie GIF yourself. If you’re not happy with your creation, just hit “Restart” for a fresh take. These Selfie GIFs save directly to your camera roll, ready for easy sharing with friends family through Google Messages.

Though the feature hasn’t officially rolled out yet, the appearance of a support page signals an imminent launch. Google often publishes support documentation just before a feature goes live, so start thinking up those goofy faces and dramatic zooms.

Google Messages continues to offer new ways to express yourself. Reaction effects rolled out not long ago, so the addition of Selfie GIFs promises to inject even more personalized fun into your daily chats. It’s unfortunate that it’s not available for us yet, although it’s a little relieving that it’s also not available for the guys at 9to5Google. However, it shouldn’t be long before it rolls out.
