Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 7 users have been plagued by an annoying notification delay issue for several weeks. Reports indicate delayed notifications, particularly for text messages, with some Pixel users reporting delays dating back before the March update.

The issue centers around delayed text message notifications. Instead of receiving messages promptly, users are experiencing a sudden barrage of notifications as if all messages were sent simultaneously. This can cause phones to vibrate repeatedly, creating distractions and the risk of missing critical communications (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8).

Fortunately, Google seems to be taking the issue seriously. A product expert in the Google forum has confirmed that the team is actively investigating the issue with delayed notifications on Pixel 8 and Pixel 7 devices. This follows a similar statement in the issue tracker late last month, suggesting Google intends to find a solution.
