The Green Hag is one of the vilest and most gruesome antagonists in Baldur’s Gate 3, but she can also be a very effective ally in a time of need. But true to her nature, players have to do some grim things to gain her favor. So if betraying a grieving mother is not an issue, hop in; we will find out how to get into Hag’s good books.
The Green Hag and her dark labor in Baldur’s Gate 3
Players will first encounter the Hag in Act 1. She has a house in the swamp. There, players can fight her to save a captured girl from her grasp, or they can spare her to get a blessing from her for the first time.
But after sparing her, she will poof out of the place and not be seen for a while. Players will meet the Hag once again in Act 3.
(Spoilers for Act 3 below)
In the final Act of the game, players will finally reach the legendary city of Baldur’s Gate. The city is the epicenter of all the plots and schemes that have been cooking throughout the Game.
In the city, players will also get to initiate a quest that will close the Hag’s storyline.
The Hag’s quest:
In the city, players will find a mother at the Basilisk Gate who is trying to make a complaint about her missing daughter to the Flaming Fist. If the players talk with her, she will tell them to see if they can find her daughter, as the Flaming Fists are ‘malfunctioning’.
On the other end of the map, near The Counting House, players can find a house inhabited by a group of hunters who are targeting a Hag. Talking with them, players will find new information about the location of the Hag and how to kill her for good this time.
With the information, players need to head toward the Blushing Mermaid Inn in the middle of the city. Here they will meet Captain Grisly who is… lo and behold, the Hag in disguise. And to make matters worse, she is ‘pregnant’.
But her pregnancy is just as vile as hers because she is ‘pregnant’ with the missing child. According to her, the Hag makes spawn by eating kids whole and incubating them in their belly until they turn into full-fledged Hags.
Here, the players can make a choice of either freeing the child and killing the Hag or killing the mother of the child and letting the Hag ‘conceive’ the child.
How to make the Hag join you in the end battle?
The climax of Bladur’s Gate 3 features a massive battle between the player and a huge Elder brain, powered up by the Crown of Karsus. In this battle, players can summon the help of the characters they have gained favor from throughout the game.
To make the Hag join the final fight, players have to make the hard choice of letting the Hag have the kid and killing the mother. This will add the option of summoning the Hag’s help in the final battle.
That’s congratulations on your Hag ‘friend’; we hope you are happy with your choices…
