Camels are passive mobs found in desert villages in Minecraft. They can be saddled and ridden by up to two players at once. Camels spawn in the center of desert villages during world generation, and they won’t respawn if killed.

In Minecraft, a raid is an in-game event where waves of various mobs, mainly illagers, spawn and attack a village. During a raid, players will fight against different types of illager mobs, including pillagers, vindicators, evokers, and ravagers.

Raids may seem unfair to many players, but the table can be turned when the camels come into the mix. A player mounted on a Camel can’t be damaged by the Raiders. The reason for this is that the Camels are too tall for any mob to reach the players.

Getting a high ground while being mounted on a Camel, players can easily pick out illagers during a Raid. But players need to keep in mind that while they may be immune to damage while on Camelback, the Camels aren’t. With damage, they will despawn, leaving the player stranded.

Camels can indeed walk underwater. So if you plan to haul a lot of cargo over some water body, Camels are one of the best options. However, even if they can walk underwater, they aren’t fish.

If a camel’s head goes below the water’s surface, it will start choking and taking damage. If not taken out quickly enough, the Camel will die and despawn.
