At the beginning of December, Google began the global rollout of Bard integrated with the Gemini Pro model in more than 170 countries. Now, after a delay, it is reaching users in the United Kingdom.

Google Bard powered by Gemini Pro already reaching the UK

After a few weeks of waiting, the United Kingdom has finally received Bard powered by Gemini Pro, one of the latest AI models developed by Google. According to the company, this is the largest update the AI chatbot has received to date, giving it more power and capabilities.

In case you don’t know, Google Bard is the company’s answer to services like ChatGPT. Although Bard’s capabilities in its initial release were limited to competing against the OpenAI alternative in the AI segment, it is improving by leaps and bounds.

For instance, according to Google CEO Sundar Pichai, the Gemini AI model will offer ‘multimodal’ capabilities in the coming months. This means that it will go from supporting only text-based prompts to ‘understanding’ multimedia content of all types to generate responses. Of course, by being integrated with Bard, Google’s AI chatbot is expected to gain these capabilities in the future

But that’s not all; the company had already revealed that Google Bard will be integrated with Gemini Ultra next year. Gemini Ultra is the most powerful AI model developed by Google to date, so the possibilities will expand even further.

Gemini Pro and Gemini Ultra are the models designed for the most complex tasks, but there is also Gemini Nano, the ‘lite’ version intended to offer advanced functionalities on mobile devices through a combination of on-device and cloud-based AI processing, as happens in the latest Google Pixel 8 series.

Finally, Google is not only working for progress in the field of massive AI use but also to fight against the associated risks that may be increasing as it has ‘just exploded’, taking the world by storm.
