Google Pixel 5G network: A list of all supported countries
The Pixel 4a (5G) and Pixel 5 were the first 5G smartphones released by Google. At the time, 5G was still relatively new, with about 93 commercial 5G networks available across the world. This figure more than doubled by January 2023, with GSMA reporting over 229 commercial 5G networks globally and over 700 5G smartphones, including the Pixel 6, Pixel 7 and Pixel 8 series. This shows just how far and wide 5G coverage has reached. But still, some Google Pixel phones are not compatible with 5G network in so many countries across the globe.
This 5G limitation could be attributed to the Google Pixel’s dotted global availability. For instance, the Pixel 7 was sold in 17 markets while the latest Pixel 8 is available only in 21 markets. If you reside in any of these official countries, you should have no problem with 5G network. While this implies Pixel phones only have 5G network in supported countries, the fact that they are equipped with the necessary hardware (bands) required for general 5G support means they should work even in unofficial countries. Unfortunately, this isn’t always the case because local carriers also need to approve.
The good thing is Google is constantly adding 5G support to Pixel phones in various countries through software updates, so the official list should keep expanding with time. While we’ll keep updating this article as Google adds new regions, here’s the latest list of all countries where 5G network is available on Google Pixel phones, both officially and unofficially.

Unofficial list of supported countries
Google is constantly working with global carriers to enable 5G support even in countries where the Pixel isn’t sold. These changes are often seen first in the beta channel (r/android_beta) before eventually going public through stable Android updates. To this effect, here is the unofficial list of countries where 5G is supported on Pixel phones based on user feedback.
- South Africa – Vodafone (Vodacom)
- Malaysia – U Mobile
- Mexico – Telcel
- Saudi Arabia – STC
- Bahrain – Batelco
- Kuwait – Unnamed carrier
- Qatar – Unnamed carrier
- Oman – Unnamed carrier
- Hungary – Yettel, T-Mobile
- Slovakia – Slovak Telekom
- UAE – Unnamed carrier
Note that the unofficial list is made of user reports that I scoured the internet to find in various platforms including Reddit, X and the official Google Pixel support forum. However, Google hasn’t confirmed that Pixel devices are indeed compatible with 5G networks in these regions. Of course, once confirmed, we will update the official list accordingly.
