You can now buy the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro in more countries than any past flagship Pixel phone. Through the official Google Store, you can buy any of the Pixel 8 devices in at least 20 countries across the globe. But in India, the phones are sold through an official 3rd-party retailer instead of the official Google Store, although this could change later given Google’s ongoing marketing efforts to improve the brand’s presence in the country.

The Pixel 8 series is available in 21 countries

Google’s first Tensor-powered smartphone mainly focused on the company’s “key” markets. With the Pixel 7, Google added five more countries to the roster to make it 17 countries, the most to get a Pixel device at the time. The Pixel 7a usurped this achievement after selling in 22 countries, though. This expansion also marked a return to India for Google’s flagship smartphone ever since the Pixel 4, and it’s great to see Google continue this streak with the Pixel 8 availability in Bhārat.

India joins 20 other countries where the Pixel 8 is now available to buy, making it a total of 21 — the second widest availability we’ve seen since Google launched the Pixel phone in 2016. Below is the full list of all countries that fans can buy the latest Pixel 8 and 8 Pro.

  • Austria
  • Australia
  • Belgium

While this is a significant leap, fans in most countries are still unable to buy the Pixel phone through official channels. But be sure to read our article on what you need to know before buying a Google Pixel phone in an unsupported country. Still, I won’t be surprised if Google adds more countries to this list in the coming months because it won’t be the first time it’s happened.

Below are the official prices of the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro in each of the 21 countries:

  • Austria — €799/€1,099

Google has slowly been expanding the Pixel presence in global markets, but it’s still a drop in the ocean when pitted against Samsung and Apple. Hopefully, the rumored Pixel 8a picks up from where the Pixel 7a left and expands to even more markets.

Tech has been my playground for over a decade. While the Android journey began early, it truly took flight with the revolutionary Lollipop update. Since then, it's been a parade of Android devices (with a sprinkle of iOS), culminating in a mostly happy marriage with Google's smart home ecosystem. Expect insightful articles and explorations of the ever-evolving world of Android and Google products coupled with occasional rants on the Nest smart home ecosystem.
