New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (August 23, 2023) follows:

Many X (formerly Twitter) users have been reporting that the Quote Tweets (also known as QRTs) are not showing or loading for them.

And if you are also facing a similar issue, then fret not, you’re not the only one having this issue lately.

Recently, some X users reported issues such as errors when trying to play videos or GIFs and confusion over the new app icon. And now another issue with the platform has surfaced.

X Quote tweets aka QRTs not loading or showing up

The usual process of quoting a tweet to add your own thoughts or reactions seems to have hit a snag. For some users, the QRTs are not appearing as expected.

According to some users, they are unable to see quote tweets as they won’t load or show up when they click on them. As a result, the timeline looks a bit empty, with quoted tweets missing their mark.

Here are some reports for reference:

Is there a reason I’m suddenly not seeing the quotes on any tweet? Is rate limiting back? (Source)

While some users believe that quotes aren’t working properly due to some glitch, some are anticipating that maybe Twitter imposed a limit on number of QRTs.

Unfortunately, this issue hasn’t been acknowledged by the support team yet. Also, we haven’t come across any potential workaround that might help you fix this glitch.

Hence, you’ll have to wait until devs come up with a definitive fix. And we will make sure to update this article as and when any new development regarding this issue comes to our notice.

Update 1 (September 13, 2023)

6:18 pm (IST): Twitter/X is removing (1, 2) the quotes button beneath posts. To access quotes now, users need to click on the three dots at the top and select ‘View post engagements.’
