Twitter (now X) is one of the most popular microblogging platforms for sharing thoughts using text, pictures, and videos. However, some users have recently encountered ‘content not available’ or ‘playback error’ when viewing tweets.

As per reports, users are getting these errors when playing a video or loading GIFs. This isn’t anything new, Twitter users have come across a similar issue in the past.

Twitter ‘content not available’ error

A section of X users are troubled by ‘content not available’ error. Users say that this error pops up when they try to preview a video or GIFs.

Is anyone else having problems loading videos on Twitter? Mine is either constantly buffering or displays a “Content not available” page. (Source)

“Content is not available” on a black screen. But I can see a still image as I click in and out f your tweet, and I see a thumbnail w/ play button as I respond. Twitter is so weird. (Source)

Whenever users click on any media content such as a video or a GIF, they are greeted with an error message instead of the actual media.

Twitter ‘playback error’

As if the aforementioned error wasn’t enough to mess up with media content on Twitter, ‘playback error’ is another issue that has been reported.

Users get this error when they tap on the video to make it full screen. As a result, they can’t watch videos in full screen view.

Sadly, we haven’t come across any potential workarounds for any of these issues and you’ll have to wait until devs come up with a fix.

Unfortunately, X (Twitter) hasn’t yet acknowledged any of these issues. However, we will keep tabs on the latest developments and update this article accordingly.
