[Updated] Amazon Fire TV Stick stuck on logo (unable to log in), remote not working, & apps not loading for some users
New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on November 01, 2021) follows:
The Amazon Fire TV Stick series is one of the most popular for streaming multimedia content. However, recently, some of its users are having serious issues with their dongles.
According to multiple reports, a recent update would have started to generate all kinds of adverse effects on the Amazon Fire TV Stick system.
Reports from affected users mainly focus on three big issues: Amazon Fire TV Stick stuck on logo while trying to log in, remote control not working and apps not loading/getting stuck.
Amazon Fire TV Stick stuck on logo
I am having troubling logging in to Fire TV Stick account. I select the password, then I key in the characters as per screen, however when click on next nothing happens.
Curiously, one of the reports indicates that the problem occurs on the TV at home, but the log in process could be completed on a friend’s TV:
Remote control not working
So my Fire TV Stick remove is stuck on searching for remote! I have changed to new batteries, held the home button for 10 min, and did the unplug the remote hold all 3 buttons and put batteries back in and all that and still nothing! Is there anything else I can do? How do I get a new remote, this is very frustrating please help!
Affected users indicate that they have had to use alternative methods to control the device, such as voice commands from Alexa or the Fire TV remote app.
Apps not loading (getting stuck)
I can’t get the ESPN app to load on my firestick 4k. The app never loads- it just times out. I have cleared my cache, cleared my data, uninstalled the app, reinstalled the app, and restarted my firestick several times but it still won’t load. I have ESPN through my cable provider but can’t even get into the app.
The update you should avoid: Fire OS 22.214.171.124
Amazon has not yet officially commented on these reports. However, affected users suspect that the problems came with the latest system update.
According to some reports, the problems started after installing the Fire OS 126.96.36.199 (NS6281/4054) update. Therefore, if you receive it, the best thing to do for now is to avoid installing it.
After recent update ( Fire OS 188.8.131.52, NS6281/4054 ), ESPN app is not loading at all. It is stuck at the init screen for ever.
At the moment, affected users can only wait for an official statement from Amazon on this situation. We will update this article when updates arise on the matter to keep you informed, so stay tuned.
