New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on August 2, 2023) follows:
Twitch is a leading platform for live online entertainment that connects millions of users worldwide through gaming, creative content, and more.
Launched in 2011, Twitch started as a small platform for live gaming streams. Over time, it has grown into a big hub that offers a variety of content such as music, art, talk shows, and much more.
Twitch streaming from Chromecast not working
And now, another issue has surfaced which is now troubling some users. As per reports (1, 2, 3), Twitch streaming from Chromecast is not working for a section of users or they are getting black screen.
Here are some reports for reference:
@Twitch @TwitchSupport hi! Seems there’s an issue with streaming twitch to chromecast, I’ve seen issues from various users stating the same thing from twitter and Reddit. SOS this is my favorite thing to do! (Source)
Why can’t I cast Twitch to my Chromecast? Already reinstalled Twitch, rebooted the Chromecast….still nothing. Other apps work fine. (Source)
This issue has been reported by users only when streaming through Chromecast and it seems to be limited to Twitch, as other streaming services remain unaffected.
Moreover, some believe that it is broken after the recent Twitch update. Unfortunately, we don’t know the exact reason behind the black screen problem.
Furthermore, Twitch and Chromecast haven’t released official statements on the matter yet, leaving users puzzled.
Also, there isn’t any workaround to this problem as of now. Users have tried some basic trouble-shooters such as restarting Chromecast, reinstalling Twitch, and resetting network settings, but no luck.
This means that you’ll have to wait until devs fix this issue. Rest assured, we will update this article as and when we come across any new information.
