Ever since its inception, Xbox has evolved into a powerhouse of gaming technology, delivering unsurpassed gaming thrills and immersive experiences to gamers of all ages.
Yet, akin to most popular gaming platforms, the Xbox is not without its fair share of bugs or issues.
For example, we recently noted that the Xbox privacy settings were not working or were inaccessible for some users, and an exploit that allegedly allowed hackers to permanently ban user accounts through the Mod Menu.
Now, a new glitch is troubling some players on PC.
Xbox games not installing or downloading
According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9), several PC owners are facing an issue where Xbox games are not installing or downloading.
They are experiencing difficulties when trying to install or reinstall gaming services, which is a prerequisite for playing games through Game Pass.
As per the allegations, the installation process stalls at around 97%. On the other hand, some claim that the game and MS Visual C++ 2015 UWP Desktop Runtime Package get stuck on the ‘starting download’ phase itself.
A few have also observed that the game’s installation keeps stopping after just one second. And the situation remains the same even after trying common troubleshooting steps.
Gamers have tried removing data from the AppData folder, logging out, then back in with different accounts on the Microsoft Store, but to no avail.
My xbox app is stuck on the pulsating logo, i’ve waited 30 mins and still nothing. I have tried repairing/reinstalling/resetting both xbox app and the xbox game bar but still nothing. Need some help.

In addition to this, players have also noticed instances where the Xbox app keeps getting stuck on the pulsating logo. Allegedly, the app does not function properly even after resetting or reinstalling.
Also, one cannot download games if they accidentally end up redeeming the Microsoft gift card on the wrong account.
Those affected are now requesting the developers to fix this bug as soon as possible.
No official response
Unfortunately, Microsoft has not officially responded to the matter. But we are hopeful that the company will officially acknowledge and resolve the issues soon.
Having said that, we will keep an eye on this topic and update you as soon as we come across anything noteworthy.
