Players are accused of using third-party tools to gain an unfair advantage in the game. However, a number of them have vehemently denied taking such measures (1,2,3).
They assert that the ban messages lack specific evidence, leading to anger and frustration among the affected community members.
Numerous players have also been active participants in the League of Legends community for a long time, putting time and money into their accounts. That’s why the sudden ban on their accounts is extremely upsetting.
Potential reason
A significant number of players affected by these bans speculate that Riot Games is implementing a purge of ‘booted’ accounts.
An account that has been leveled up by a bot using third-party program is known as a booted account. These programs basically play the game on the player’s behalf, helping in the achievement of levels and awards.
So according to this theory, the ban system is detecting accounts that have ever been linked to the usage of these bots. It applies even if players had stopped using the third-party tools for a considerable period of time.
The bugged ticket system of the game further rubs salt on the wound of these players. They claim that whenever they raise a concern or appeal a ban via submitting a ticket, they end up getting bot responses.
And 90% of the time you just get a bot response too But it’s not like the humans are any smarter
