New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on July 06, 2023) follows:
Threads is designed by Meta as a competitor to Twitter, offering a more intimate and focused messaging experience.
Threads enables users to post threads, engage in conversations, and follow profiles of interest. Threads supports various forms of media, including text, links, photos, videos, or a combination of all.
Users can share threads with their followers, allowing them to view and reply to the content directly.
Threads logging out users from Instagram accounts after signing in
However, Threads and Instagram users are encountering an issue that involves a perplexing behavior where signing in one app, keeps automatically logging them out of the other (1,2,3,4,5,6).
When a user attempts to log into Threads, they anticipate being able to transition smoothly back to Instagram without any interruptions.
But upon successfully logging into Threads, they find themselves inexplicably logged out of Instagram.
Conversely, the problem also occurs when users log in to Instagram. Instead of seamlessly transitioning to the app, users are unexpectedly logged out of Threads.
This problem disrupts the seamless integration that should exist between the two applications, frustrating users who rely on both platforms for their social media activities.
Officially found the first bug with Meta’s Threads so far. Let’s say you have one Apple device. If you log into Threads, you will be logged out of Instagram. And if you log back into Instagram, you will be logged out of Threads automatically. Big oversight on Meta’s part…

threads logs me out of my ig every time i get on the app. it’s so glitchy and how come i can’t put the link back on my instagram after accidentally deleting it??

Users have to delete Instagram account to get rid of Threads
Even more ludicrous is that Threads users have to take a drastic measure to get of it (1,2,3,4,5).
When a user creates a Threads account, it is automatically linked to their Instagram account. Therefore, if a user decides to delete their Threads account, the associated Instagram account must also be deleted along with it.
This is unnecessarily inconvenient and something users are unhappy about.
Before you get that Threads app, just know it’s connected to your instagram and if you delete your threads account you permanently delete your instagram account

gotta hand it to meta, trapping people into keeping threads by simply not allowing them to delete their account is pretty genius. evil, but genius. i fell for it too.

To avoid this situation, we would suggest creating a separate Instagram account exclusively for using with Threads.
By doing so, users can maintain their main Instagram account and its associated content while still being able to explore and use Threads without the risk of losing their primary account.
It provides a level of separation between Instagram content and the conversations and sharing that occur within Threads.
That being said, stay tuned to PiunikaWeb to know if and when there are any further developments regarding this topic.
Apart from this, there are some other issues bugging users such as app crashing when uploading images and missing dark mode. Also, some users are requesting chronological order for posts in their home feed.
Update 1 (July 07, 2023)
06:02 pm (IST): Since it’s been established that deleting one’s Threads account will also delete Instagram account, users can simply choose to deactivate their accounts on Threads.
According to Meta’s Supplemental Privacy Policy, users have the option to deactivate their Threads profile at any time, but the only way to completely remove it is by deleting their Instagram account.

Moreover, it’s also been clarified by the CEO of Threads. They claimed that without deleting your Instagram account, one can make their profile private and erase certain thread postings.
Since Threads is powered by Instagram, there is currently only one account. However, the team is looking into a means to permanently remove Threads account individually.
