When compared to Diablo 3, Diablo 4 features a more realistic art style and a focus on brutal combat. Players have to face off against hordes of powerful enemies, including terrifying bosses, in the latest iteration.
Even though the gameplay is challenging and exciting at the same time, occasional bugs and issues end up spoiling the overall experience.
For instance, we recently covered issues where the level scaling in Diablo 4 was causing characters to feel weaker after leveling up and the ‘Fangs of Corruption’ quest was freezing or getting stuck on console.
Now, some are witnessing problems with Elixir buffs or effects.
Diablo 4 ‘Elixir buffs or effects’ disappearing before timer runs out
Elixirs are a sort of consumable item that may be used to provide the gamer with temporary buffs or effects. These also provide additional advantages, such as greater damage, health regeneration, or immunity to crowd control.
If used strategically, these can act as a powerful tool and help one gain a significant advantage in combat.
However, reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) suggest that multiple Diablo 4 players are facing an issue where the Elixir buffs or effects disappear before the timer runs out.

In addition to this, these also vanish if one gets logged out of the game or it crashes. But luckily, the buff doesn’t drop when one dies or with other in-game actions as well.
Although those affected are disappointed to be facing such an issue on disconnections.
A gamer is frustrated as they allegedly lose their Elixir effects every time the game disconnects. Recently, they have also witnessed a situation where they lost their elixir buff after only 5 minutes into the game.
I noticed my active elixir expires / disappears after finishing a dungeon, even when there is like 15+ min left . Is this intended behavior or a bug?

Another player mentions that the elixir they crafted for slaying a demon disappeared during a fight.
Notably, some are also losing the buff when switching from a helltide zone to a non-helltide area or to an adjacent ‘safe’ town within the helltide area.

Some gamers are also requesting the developers to allow them to use multiple instances of the same elixir to prolong the duration beyond the usual 30-minute duration.
In addition to this, it has also been requested that these effects remain active if one gets logged out and signs back in to the game.
