Some Instagram users unable to react or reply (quote) to individual DMs

Instagram is undoubtedly a fantastic platform for connecting with friends and family and sharing your experiences. It also acts as a hub of discovery, allowing one to explore and find new things that align with their interests.

The platform also makes it easy for users to communicate with their peers, thanks to the Direct Messages, Live Video, Reels, and Stories features.

However, lately, some have started experiencing difficulties when communicating with others.

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8), multiple Instagram users are facing an issue where they are unable to react or reply to individual DMs.

They claim that they are now unable to unsend messages and can only slide to reply to messages that they have received.

Furthermore, users assert that the themes and reactions functionalities are not working properly in DMs as well.

Some have even noted anomalies in their accounts. They assert that one of their accounts has access to the most recent features and changes, while the other does not.

This makes it inconvenient for them to use the latter for communicating with others. The issue has been persistent for the past few days and mostly affects iOS users.

And sadly, users can’t get rid of this problem even by clearing the app cache, logging out and back in, and updating the app and their smartphone.

However, it’s worth mentioning that users have faced issues in communicating with others via DMs earlier as well

Despite reaching out to Instagram via user feedback and emails time and again, the issue still remains unresolved. And understandably, those affected are now requesting META to fix this glitch as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, Instagram has not officially responded to the matter. But we do hope that the company acknowledges and resolves this issue as soon as possible.

Having said that, we’ll keep tabs on this issue and update this article to reflect noteworthy information.
