YouTube is one of the most popular social media platforms used across the globe on a daily basis. However, being popular doesn’t mean that it’s free from bugs and issues.

For instance, we recently covered issues where YouTube users were getting blurred videos even after selecting high resolution and dark mode for YouTube Studio app was not working on iOS.

This time, some are annoyed because of long, unskippable ads.

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), multiple YouTube users are facing an issue where they are getting long unskippable ads when playing videos.

It has been alleged that one now gets unskippable ads lasting from 15 to 30 seconds. In addition to this, advertisements pop up after a minute of video playback for a section of users as well.

On the other hand, some even get lengthy ads when viewing video clippings that are shorter than the ads themselves.

Users are of the view that YouTube has done this intentionally in order to force more people to purchase the platform’s premium membership.

They even find this practice ridiculous as the platform already earns a lot of money through ads and premium subscriptions every year.

Users also complain that one already has to watch unnecessary promotional content in videos, time and again. And if the platform keeps on indulging in such practices, then it will slowly lead to its downfall.

Viewers suggest that YouTube should reduce the frequency and length of ads in order to stop viewers from switching over to other alternatives.

They also say that direct links to promotional material must be added in order to eliminate any sort of confusions.

Those affected are now requesting the company to resolve this problem as soon as possible.

Fortunately, the YouTube support team has officially acknowledged this issue and is currently working on fixing it. However, no official ETA for the bug fix has been provided.

We are hopeful that YouTube will quickly resolve this issue.

In the meantime, we’ll keep on monitoring this topic and update this story to reflect the latest information.
