Google Chrome is undoubtedly one of the most popular web browsers in the world that occasionally gets updates and new features.

However, some bugs and issues still manage to creep in despite these updates. For instance, we recently highlighted how Chrome kept reopening closed tabs following an update.

The print function had also stopped working or crashing for users after v112.0.5615.49/50 update.

Google Chrome ‘Share link to’ options missing

Some Google Chrome users have now been reporting that the most recent update to the web browser has removed the ‘Share link to’ options.

The share link module of the share button had been removed by the chrome group in version 112. It seems to me that the chrome groups maybe think that this feature is used by relatively few people.

According to reports, the only available options are ‘Copy link, QR, Send, and Save page’. And there is no longer a sharing option (especially, social media shares options) on the platform anymore.

It seems that the functionality disappeared after the v112.0.5615.138 update. Some are seemingly frustrated as for some it was a frequently used feature. While others think it is absolutely odd to get rid of such a basic option.

Those affected are now asking the team to reinstate the ‘Share link to’ options.

Issue escalated

While this issue hasn’t been officially acknowledged, there’s still some good news. A Google Product Expert has confirmed that they’ll share this issue with the Chrome team for further investigation.

Unfortunately, there is no workaround at the moment. But we still hope that a fix for the issue where Google Chrome ‘Share link to’ options have gone missing becomes available at the earliest.
