New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on November 01, 2022) follows:

Instagram keeps adding new features through updates every now and then to make users’ experiences even more immersive. However, the social media platform is also often surrounded by various issues.

For instance, we previously highlighted how Instagram kept logging out while searching or clicking ‘#Embeded’ or ‘#Embedded’.

Instagram not sending 2FA SMS verification code

And now, a large chunk of Instagram users is now reporting an issue where they are not getting a two-factor authentication verification code.

It rather keeps asking users to ‘try again in a few minutes’ every time they try to log into their accounts.

@InstagramComms @instagram the problem is clearly still persisting! Won’t send an SMS code and has been telling me to “try again in a few minutes” since 10 AM 10/31

Please disable the 2FA temporarily or send us new codes to our email, because we will probably never receive the login code from a SMS.

Apparently, Instagram’s recent outage disabled many accounts for no reason. Others also witnessed a massive drop in the follower count following the sudden outage.

Apart from suspension, affected users also got a ‘User not found‘ error message. Although Instagram resolved this issue in no time, it seems it’s not been fixed for all.

According to recent reports, some Instagram accounts are still disabled, and those affected are unable to login.

With no official acknowledgment out there yet, it seems Instagram is still unaware of the issue where the app is not sending 2FA verification SMS code at the moment.

We hope that the team comes up with a definite fix and helps Instagram users restore their suspended accounts at the earliest.

We’ll keep tabs on further developments and update the article as and when something noteworthy comes up.
