Ticketmaster is arguably the most popular and definitely the most controversial ticket-booking platform at the moment. Especially after the Taylor Swift fiasco.

Morgan Wallen recently announced his tour, and fans have been facing issues with the presale on Ticketmaster and the platform’s approach regarding their pricing.

Some fans are complaining about the ‘Platinum’ tickets as their price for the Morgan Wallen concerts has skyrocketed due to demand for them (1,2,3,4,5).

The prices have reached the level where a Platinum seat ticket costs equivalent to or close to a VIP one without the usual perks like early entry to the venue or free merch items.

The ticket prices are so high that some users imply that going on a trip is cheaper than buying a ticket for the concert. While others are contemplating whether to buy Christmas gifts or these tickets for their children or partners.

for platinum yes! they are usually priced at around $500-800 dollars per ticket we try to boycott ticketmaster for it every time , but they never listen. it sucks. they usually make so many good seats that should’ve been face value into overpriced items :((

Here’s the official explanation of what the Platinum seats program is and how its price fluctuates:

Ticketmaster’s Official Platinum seat program enables market-based pricing (adjusting prices according to supply and demand) for live event tickets, similar to how airline tickets and hotel rooms are sold.

The ‘Official Platinum’ tag indicates that they are not resale tickets. If a reseller was selling them, it would say ‘Verified Resale Ticket’, like in the picture below.

As for the resale, it costs a fortune in itself where tickets are listed in the 2000$ range (1,2,3) which majority of the Morgan Wallen fans can’t afford.

Taylor Swift fans in the past faced similar pricing issues and criticized Ticketmaster for it. Not only them, Ticketmaster has also faced huge backlash from various musicians’ fans for their steep ticket pricing (1,2,3,4,5).

it wasn’t even prices. it’s the way they do ut and then the prices are just the icing on the cake. @Ticketmaster tags on all their extra stuff and makes it way too expensive

Going to a concert is an experience in itself and seeing your musician playing in your city is sometimes a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

So, Ticketmaster needs to keep a check on its pricing and see if the concert is getting too expensive for its fans.

11:16 am (IST): Morgan Wallen has reportedly postponed the first three dates of ‘The Dangerous Tour’ due to severe and inclement weather in Indiana, Kentucky, and the Northeast. Here are the new dates:

The show in Evansville, IN (original date – Feb. 3) has been postponed to April 14, while the second event on Feb. 4 (Charleston, WV) has been pushed to April 15.

And the third date from Feb. 5 (Allentown, PA) has been re-scheduled to May 27.
