New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on February 01, 2023) follows:

In addition to being a successful video game, Fortnite has become a pop culture icon. The multiple collaborations (1, 2) with other big franchises and characters of all kinds are proof of this.

One of the franchises that has made an appearance in the game is Dragon Ball. In fact, a quest inspired by the famous manga/anime had been released today, but it seems that things didn’t go well from the start.

Multiple reports indicate that the Fortnite ‘Dragon Ball quest’ is bugged or broken as multiple players are missing their progress on dragon balls collecting after a disconnection.

Fortnite ‘Dragon Ball quest’ bugged (missing dragon balls progress after disconnection)

The goal of the quest is to find all the Dragon Balls hidden throughout an island. Players who find all of them will get a special spray as a prize.

However, there are Fortnite players who experience a random disconnection at some point during the quest, after which part of all their collected dragon balls progress goes missing.

For Dragon ball challenge, I finished and found all 7 balls. But it only says I have 3. where’s the 4th? I think I went thru this last time, back in Aug. Is there a secret one somewhere?

I disconnected because of lag, and now it’s impossible to get the Spray. It reset the Quest Progress, but not the Map Progress.

Also, players are unable to collect the missing dragon balls again. These will no longer be available on the island, so the quest is impossible to complete for those affected.

Issue under investigation, potential workaround

The Fortnite dev team is already aware of the issue and investigating. However, there is no ETA for a fix yet.

We’re aware that some players in the Dragon Ball Adventure Island may experience a Network Connection Lost error.

We’re investigating this and will provide an update when we have more info.

Meanwhile, there is a potential workaround that you can try:

I did it in private and it worked fine
