[Updated] Twitter users report replies not loading or unable to view threads

In the last two decades, the use of social media networks has seen tremendous growth.

Having said that, Twitter is undoubtedly one of the most popular platforms where users can share their opinions with others via short messages called Tweets. These messages can have a maximum length of 280 characters.


With more than 206 million monetizable monthly users as of 2021, it is one of the leading social networks worldwide.

Nonetheless, Twitter users are no strangers when it comes to bugs with users complaining about the auto-refreshing timeline making a comeback and translate tweet function not working for some.

But recent reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) from Twitter users suggest that comments or replies are not loading for many. The problem is preventing them from viewing any threads.

It is a really serious issue since users are unable to interact with others. A bunch of people said they tried changing networks, clearing app data and cache but these generic solutions do not seem to be working.

Below are some reports from Twitter users complaining about replies or comments not loading.


Anyone else experiencing @Twitter issues when you click on tweets & streaks of tweets the reply’s just not loading or it’s just me? @TwitterSupport can someone look into this if it’s an actual issue or my twitter is just broken.

twitter isn’t showing me any replies to any tweets (not just my own – like any tweets lol) and tbh it’s kinda freeing bc it’s cut down ship discourse on the tl by a good 50%

Unfortunately, Twitter is yet to comment on the matter where comments or replies are not loading for many. We hope the developers look into the issue and fix it as soon as possible.

Update 1 (March 09, 2022)

09:35 am (IST): Twitter Support has now confirmed that the issue with replies not loading has been fixed.

Update 2 (March 30, 2022)

12:18 pm (IST): Some users had previously reported that replies are not loading for them.

And now, many iOS users are reporting that even user profiles are not loading and they are getting an error message that says ‘uh oh, an error was encountered’. More on that here.

Update 3 (March 31, 2022)

11:20 am (IST): Twitter support has confirmed that the issue where users are getting ‘Tweets aren’t loading right now’ error has now been fixed.

Update 4 (December 7, 2022)

12:15 am (IST): Reports on Twitter can confirm that the platform is currently experiencing an issue preventing some tweets and replies from loading. Instead, users get ‘Something went wrong. Try reloading’ error message.

A quick look on Downdetector also reveals a potential outage with the service that’s likely preventing some replies from loading.
