CenturyLink customers have been left without internet access as the service appears to be down and not working due to an outage.

Reports indicate that the outage started roughly an hour ago and still hasn’t been fixed.

Here are a few reports from disgruntled users for reference:

Most reports seem to be coming from Arizona but some individuals haven’t mentioned the area in their reports.

That said, affected users have been bombarding the company’s Twitter account for an explanation or official statement regarding the outage but there’s no response yet.

In the meantime, there’s one potential workaround that you could try out in order to fix the internet.

An individual claims that CenturyLink internet is down and not working due to a DNS issue. Therefore, changing the DNS on your device should fix the problem.

If changing the DNS settings does not work, then unfortunately you may have to wait for CenturyLink to address the problem on its end.

We’ll keep tabs on the situation and will post an update if and when there are any further developments.

Update 1 (August 9, 2022)

10:20 am (IST): CenturyLink support has acknowledged the outage with their service and confirmed that the team is working to resolve it.

The repair team is working on resolving an outage in parts of AZ, repair has not released an ETA for the repair to be completed yet. We will need you to send a DM to determine if your location is affected. (Source)

Update 2 (August 10, 2022)

10:04 am (IST): CenturyLink support has confirmed that the recent outage with their internet service has now been resolved.

All services are restored for customers who experienced a service disruption in Phoenix, Arizona. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate our customers’ patience and understanding. (Source)

Update 3 (August 11, 2022)

05:30 pm (IST): Freh reports on Twitter and Downdetector indicate that CenturyLink is currently down or not working for many.

07:04 pm (IST): It appears that the recent outage with CenturyLink has now been resolved as reports on Downdetector have diminished.

Update 4 (August 24, 2022)

09:10 am pm (IST): According to multiple reports, CenturyLink internet services are currently down (1, 2, 3). The issue is also reflected in the Down Detector server status platform.

Update 5 (May 26, 2023)

10:18 am (IST): Downdetector platform reveals that CenturyLink internet services are currently down.

03:00 pm (IST): CenturyLink internet services are now available again for those affected users.

Update 6 (June 21, 2023)

10:34 am (IST): CenturyLink users are currently facing a new service disruption (1, 2, 3).

01:40 pm (IST): The internet service is now available again for CenturyLink users.

Update 7 (July 12, 2023)

11:33 am (IST): Some CenturyLink users report a new ongoing internet outage (1, 2, 3).

02:30 pm (IST): The CenturyLink internet outage has now been resolved for those affected.

01:40 pm (IST): CenturyLink users are currently facing a new service outage (1,2,3,4).

05:00 pm (IST): The latest outage appears to have been resolved.
