Some Google Drive users have taken to the community forums to report an issue where they are receiving an error ‘You don’t have access to this service’.

This issue appears to have popped up in the last few days and some users say something similar happened a few months ago.

Users are reporting that they are unable to access their Google Drive app when they are signed in with an account from an organization such as from an account provided by a school.

Speaking of which, we’ve added a few of these reports below for reference:

I can’t log in to my school gmail account.
I tried deleting the app and then downloaded it again but when I try logging in to my account I can’t.

Every time I try to log into Google Drive on my iPhone, it gives me a message saying “You don’t have access to this service” and tells me to contact my administrator, since this is an account under my school’s domain. However, Google Drive works just fine on Safari, Chrome, etc. – everywhere but the app, so I obviously do have access to the service. I also have logged into this school account on my iPad, and it worked perfectly well.

The problem appears to be affecting users with only on the iOS platform as we’re unable to find any evidence to suggest otherwise at the time of this writing.

Fortunately, a user was able to figure out what could potentially be the explanation to the problem. According to them issue has something to do with the age restrictions.

So a temporary workaround is to turn off age restrictions to see if it fixes the problem.

Turning off age restrictions on a test OU fixes this issue, but it is not a solution that we can roll out.

Since reports about the issue are pretty recent, there’s no official acknowledgment from the company yet. However, it’s been escalated for further investigation.

If the potential workaround still doesn’t fix the issue, we’d suggest waiting for an official fix that might pop-up later.

So stay tuned for any further developments regarding the Google Drive ‘You don’t have access to this service’ error on iOS.
