COD: Mobile Oden & Jak-12 weapons causing FPS drops & lag when firing, no official acknowledgment yet
Most of the installments of the COD saga are usually a success on all the platforms where they are available. So, a while ago Activision decided to extend its availability to mobile devices too.
COD: Mobile was born as a consequence of the previous decision. The game arrived in 2019 to offer the experience of Call of Duty action shooters on smartphones and tablets.
COD: Mobile is a free-to-play game that implements a Season updates system. Recently, the game received Season 5 as its latest big update.
COD: Mobile FPS drops and lag when using Oden and Jak-12 weapons
According to multiple reports, firing the COD: Mobile Oden and Jak-12 weapons causes lag and big FPS drops during matches, directly impacting gameplay.
The Oden is an assault rifle characterized by dealing a large amount of damage, in exchange for firing a little slower than other weapons in its class.
On the other hand, the Jak-12 is a shotgun, so it’s especially poised for close-range combat. The weapon boasts good fire rate and damage dealt.
Hey! @PlayCODMobile, I experiencing bug from the newest gun which is the ODEN Assult Riffle in Battle Royale, when I do ADS my phone is lagging even though I have better ping. I try to switch to the other gun it’s smooth and good. Do you experiencing this? 😭
Exactly the same happening with me too using the Jak-12. Very frustrating indeed, it’s only started after the update.
The lag and FPS drops caused by firing these weapons in COD: Mobile make them virtually unusable at the moment, as they put players at a noticeable disadvantage during matches.
No official acknowledgment of the issue yet
Some players have a theory of why the Jak-12 is causing performance issues.
The amount of pellets shot, sound and animation of the gun. I had a little-ish lag when transitioning to the reload animation
Many pellets per shot, plus it’s an full auto shotgun which makes it laggy, happens to me as well…
However, there is still no official acknowledgment of the issue from COD: Mobile developers. We will update this story once new related details emerge.
