If you are interested in indoor cycling, you must be familiar with Zwift. The multiplayer online cycling program offers eleven worlds to choose from which eight are regularly rotated according to a fixed cycle.

Users can enroll themselves in structured training plans, enjoy group rides and take part in the daily events that unfold in the virtual world.

But as is the case with software, bugs and issues such as the companion app not working or showing a blue screen on iOS and U-turn function not working for some have ruined the overall experience for some.

Having said that, Zwift users are now saying they are unable to change their bike at the garage. It looks like for some the bike is stuck to the frame people were using before the update to version 1.25 (1,2,3).

The problem seems to be annoying many users since generic troubleshooting solutions such as relogging into the app and reinstalling are reportedly making no difference.

Hi everyone. I just installed the latest Zwift update and I can no longer switch bike frames. I am locked into using the default Zwift frame it gives you when you first start riding. I usually use the Ripley frame and I can select it in the garage. But when I start riding I’m back on the old Zwift frame again. Does anyone else have this problem?

i am having the same problem. the bike wont change. just started with the 1.25.0 update. talking to support. they recommended uninstall. i did so per the zwift guide, was able to change bike once. then it stuck again. this is a major problem in the update code that Zwift better fix asap

Fortunately, Zwift developers have shed some light on the matter and said they are aware of the issue where some users might be unable to change their bike at the garage. But there is no timeframe for when the issue will be fixed.

Thank you for flagging this up. I also was able to reproduce this on Win10. We’re on it and will update this thread with progress reports.

Also, we came across a workaround that seems to be reportedly helping those affected by the issue.

In iOS and iPadOS, I can confirm that the change indeed seems to ‘stick’ when clicking twice on the desired bike in the garage. I notice, clicking on a bike in my garage turns the bike background lozenge blue, but clicking a second time makes a green tick appear in the upper left corner of that lozenge. This seems to coincide with the choice sticking. This two-click workaround consistently works for me in Win 10, iOS and iPadOS if the Garage is accessed via the ‘Paused Menu’ after having already started a ride, i.e. like we always used to. It doesn’t work using the Garage icon in the new UI homescreen.

We hope the developers soon release an update that patches the bug so Zwift users can freely choose from their collection of bikes. If and when they do, we will be updating this space with relevant information so stay tuned to PiunikaWeb.
