New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on December 15, 2021) follows:

Battle.net is the multiplayer platform on which several of Blizzard’s most popular titles depend. Through it, players can find matches, interact with other players, etc.

Having said the above, in the last few hours, many game users who depend on the servers of the aforementioned platform report serious problems with it.

More specifically, it seems that the Battle.net servers are down or not working, and many of the games developed by Blizzard cannot be enjoyed at this time (1, 2).

Blizzard Battle.net down or not working at this moment

According to multiple reports, the Blizzard Battle.net servers are actually down. So, all the games that depend on it are not playable.

I’m so tired of dealing with my stream stuff, encoder issues left and right. I finally got them dialed in and battlenet goes down. As you can see, I’m loving life right now.

The above does not only apply to games developed directly by Activision Blizzard. There are games developed by others that are distributed by them, but also depend on Battle.net, such as Call Of Duty (on PC).

@BlizzardCS is there currently a DDOS attack? I was booted from
@Warzone in game. I reset everything but still can’t connect to Battlenet servers and not notes of maintenance.

@Activision
I doubt you are reading this but Warzone requiring http://Battle.net access on PC is weaksauce. http://Battle.net goes down and you can’t play Warzone. It’s running fine on consoles because no unnecessary layer of authentication was added. #Battlenet

@BlizzardCS I’m trying to update MW2, my download speed is beyond slow, and its only for BattleNet, any ways to fix?
Source

Please stop forcing us to download Warzone, especially when we’re stuck with sub 0.25 kb/s download speed.

In the meantime, there’s a potential workaround you can try:

If anyone is having issues downloading #MW2 try this (VPN Required!):

Pause Download
Connect to a VPN server located in Canada.
Resume download.

Worked for me. I went from 98kb to 18 MB/s
