Released in 2019, Apex Legends is one of the most popular Battle Royale titles of all time. Played by millions worldwide, the game is currently in its 12th season.

But ever since the start of the latest season in February this year, players have reported several bugs and issues such as getting stuck on the loading screen with error 429 and slow download speeds on Steam.

And as if these weren’t troubling enough, Apex Legends players are now saying (1,2,3,4,5) that the bug with Octane jump pad where it does not launch them into the air still persists.

Since he is one of the most picked legends in the game, many are frustrated because his kit is not working properly. As a result, Octane mains are now picking other legends, diminishing his popularity this season.

Some suggest that the issue surfaced after the start of Season 12 called Defiance. Here are reports from Apex Legends players who were playing Octane and were affected by the jump pad bug.

Just writing this post to make aware of the bug currently rendering octanes jump pad useless unless you stand on it for a second or hit the jump button on it, otherwise you will walk right over/through it. It’s not a permanent bug but it comes in go every 10 or so rounds maybe. I don’t have any videos however I’m sure if you search a bit you will find similar complaints.

Is there ever going to be a bug fix to resolve the issue with making octanes jump-pad completely unusable? Ive played a few games with octane who is my second main (more often octane that my original main recently) and a majority of the games i play theres atleast one time in the game when i throw my jump pad and it is completely useless. It doesnt launch me at all. In the beginning of the season the jump-pad was broken like it is now but it just wouldny allpw you to slide into it, but for some weird reason you could only jump to use i.

With reports dating back to a month, it looks like the issue has been affecting players for quite some time now. Unfortunately, Apex Legends developers are yet to acknowledge the issue, let alone work on a fix.

However, we did come across a temporary workaround that might help you get out of sticky situations in case you are unable to jump from the jump pad. Some players say that instead of running up to the jump pad, you should try jumping on top of it.

Octane jump pad bug found out a way to fix it (somewhat)
So I tested this out myself not sure if it works 100% but if you can’t use your jump pad, just jump while on it. Had an octane try running away from me and his jump pad bugged, and when I jumped on it, it launched me. Try for yourselves and let me know

We hope the developers patch the bug in an upcoming update so players can enjoy picking the legend once again. If and when they do, we will update this space to reflect the same so stay tuned.
