Halo Infinite is the latest title in the long-running Halo franchise. Developed by 343 Studios and published by Xbox Game Studios, the FPS shooter puts players in the shows of the human super-soldier Master Chief.

In this installment, Master Chief fights against the Banished on the Forerunner ringworld Zeta Halo. Players have praised the game for its story, visuals, open-world gameplay, and grapple shot mechanics.

However, players have reported several bugs and glitches such as the memory leak issue and the Scorpion Tank gun glitch in LASO.

And now, many Halo Infinite players are asking (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) developers to work on a feature or way that lets them earn in-game credits for free.

Players say they are unable to buy any cosmetic items or anything else from the in-game store even though they have bought the Battle Pass.

It is interesting to note that almost all multiplayer games such as Fortnite and Call of Duty incentivizes players by letting them earn credits in some way or another.

If everything is going to be locked behind the store, let us earn credits by playing. This game is absolutely amazing but I miss the customization of every other Halo game. If all the customization options are going to be locked behind a paywall an easy fix would be to award credits for levelling up and for completing challenges. People who just want items fast will still be able to buy tokens while us F2P players will have something cool to grind for.

So I wanted to pitch in this idea as a possible solution, since Halo Infinite’s multiplayer is free, I have a feeling 343 won’t remove the micro transaction. So, what if they make it to where players can earn credits (or whatever they’re called) via matches along with XP for the battle pass, and you can earn increased XP and credits by performing good in a match, just like the credit system in Halo Reach and I think the amount of credits you earn per game should be a minimum of 200 (this number is just based off of the price I’ve seen cosmetics in the shop) And they can add something similar to the 2X XP boost for the credits.

Thankfully, Jerry Hook, the Head of Design at 343 Studios has commented on the matter, hinting at the possibility that the developers might come up with a way to let players earn in-game credits.

Update 1 (January 22)

12:05 pm (IST): Based on players’ feedback, the head of design at 343 (Jerry Hook) said that Credits can now be earned in the game rather than being purchased. This will be possible from Halo Infinite’s Season 2 Battle Pass.

Thanks to your continued feedback, we are happy to confirm Credits will be earnable in Season 2’s Battle Pass. That means you will be able to earn Credits as part of your Halo Infinite progression. We’ll have more to share on this as we get closer to Season 2.
