New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on January 12, 2022) follows:

Over the past few weeks, Rainbow Six Siege players have been facing a host of glitches and issues that directly affect matches.

Several of the reported issues are related to sudden disconnections. When this happens, many receive unfair abandonment penalties.

However, according to multiple reports, in addition to the abandonment penalties, when a fortuitous disconnect occurs in Rainbow Six Siege, players also lose their earned ELO (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7).

Lost ELO after disconnection

The Rainbow Six Siege servers don’t seem like the most solid among the many FPS out there. This is something that is reflected in the multiple disconnection errors that we have already covered in the past.

Of course, such a problem is quite frustrating for gamers. After all, it is quite annoying to be in a near win match, and lose it due to a sudden disconnect.

But, this situation worsens when the disconnection brings along unfair punishments. Many report that the disconnection issue is causing them to lose the ELO earned in Rainbow Six Siege.

All players got disconnected, me and my friend got banned for 60 minutes.

Exactly what the title says, I got dc’d from the match, my friend was removed a few seconds later. He said half of our and enemy team got dc’d too.

So we want to play but we can’t because of the ban, plus the lost elo.

Ubisoft please.

Same happened yesterday. Even some random dude from my team added me on uplay just to ask if I disconnected and got banned as well.

You know, I kind of laughed when the server crashed during a pro league game a couple of seasons ago, not so funny when it happens to you tho.

Ubisoft already aware, looking into it

Recently, the Ubisoft support team confirmed that they are already aware of the issues (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6). Multiple reports have reached them, and they are currently investigating.

Hey
@Blixsbee
, we’re sorry to see this happen. We’re unable to return ELO, but we’re investigating similar reports. Can you please let us know what platform and server you’re playing Rainbow Six Siege on?

At the moment, the company requests more feedback from the players. So, there are no details yet on an estimated arrival date for a fix to correct the reported bug.

Once there are new updates related to the glitch, we will update this article with the relevant information to keep you informed.

Update 1 (September 1, 2023)

08:28 am (IST): Multiple Rainbow Six Siege players report that ELO is currently missing in ranked mode as they are not receiving it (1, 2, 3).

Update 2 (September 4, 2023)

08:51 am (IST): A week after the Rainbow Six Siege Year 8 Season 3 update, several players are still not receiving their corresponding ELO after matches (1, 2, 3).

Also, they are facing another bug where their rank is missing or getting stuck. Sadly, there is still no official word on any of these issues.
