Last month, Spotify started rolling out the Lyrics feature that appears on the Now Playing when playing a song.

But many reported that they were unable to see lyrics on Android and iOS versions of the app, following which Spotify said that the feature is being rolled out progressively.

On the other hand, those who were able to see lyrics reported that the share button had disappeared which Spotify soon acknowledged as a bug.

Some users said they were able to get the feature by clearing the app cache, logging in and out multiple times, and reinstalling the app but most of these workarounds were hit and miss at best.

As it turns out, the Spotify lyrics feature can be reportedly manually added by contacting the support through live chat. Here is what some users had to say after contacted Spotify support:

I’ve been complaining about not having lyrics for a while, so I used Spotify live chat to ask if there’s any reason for me not to have them. The first and second time I contacted them (both a month ago approximately) they just copypasted some random text saying that they’re trying new features and may not be available to everyone yet. But yesterday I did the same thing, contacted live support and the employee added the feature manually, and right now I have lyrics.

Thanks for this. I just reached out to Spotify chat and this is what I was told – ” so, from what I’ve checked, seems that the Lyrics features are not yet available for everyone. There are some that can’t view the Lyrics feature yet until now. No worries, I’ve already submitted a request for you for it to be updated manually. You should see Lyrics in 5 – 7 working days from now.”

A Reddit user shared the link using which you can contact Spotify support.

Some said that the lyrics feature was enabled on their account after contacting Spotify via Facebook, so make sure to try that as well in case the above workaround is not working for you.

Since Spotify is still rolling out the feature, it might take a while for some to see the lyrics in the Now Playing tab. In the meantime, do let us know if the aforementioned solutions worked for you or not in the comments below.
