It looks like Battlefield 2042 loves to stay in the news, even if for all the wrong reasons. The visually stunning video game was plagued by several bugs and issues even before its global release on November 19 this year.

From updates making the game unplayable to some weapons being ridiculously overpowered, the list seems to be endless. And while EA is doing a phenomenal job at fixing these, it looks like things will take quite a while before the game is bug-free to a point where it becomes completely playable.

That being said, players are now reporting that they are unable to jump after reviving a teammate amongst others. With such a basic mechanic disabled, players say they are at a huge disadvantage since jumping is one of the ways players avoid getting shot.

A few days ago, EA had acknowledged the horizontal mouse movement issue that prevented players from looking left or right.

keep getting this game breaking bug, where after reviving somebody you can’t jump anymore and my running animation is broken

New revive bug, can’t jump after reviving Update 3.1
As title says. Sometimes when I revive I cannot jump. If I revive again I can. It doesn’t happen everytime. Twice in one match and I did about 8 revives…so one in four times? Maybe it is when I am close to a wall. Will see what happens if I can sus the issue.

Thankfully, the lead game designer at DICE has acknowledged the Battlefield 2042 jump issue while also sharing a workaround.

Yes we’re aware of the bug, we’re working on a fix. If it ever happens to you, it seems to go away by pressing the revive button again (interact)

They have also acknowledged an issue where the Grapple Gun could be used on Smoke and even Tornadoes.

idk if you guys know or not but Mackay can grapple on to smoke from smoke grenades.

It looks like there is no fix in sight for this issue either.

Yes we’re aware, we’re working on fixing that!

Last but not the least, players have been complaining for a long time about the C5 Drone and how overpowered it is right now.

that is the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard they finally got the c-explosives’ right for a change best c i have ever used please dont listen to this persons wrong assessment on this mater it will ruin one of the best things in the game

I mostly play solo. If I play pvp, I always get sniper rifle, drone and C5. I have used C5 filled drone attack several times and it was fun for me. However, I agree the requirement of nerf here. Maybe they limit the amount of C5 per drone to 1 Or maybe with each C5, drone becomes slower and become an easier target. I’m sure they can solve it better than me. But I hope they don’t decrease the drone signal range and let us keep 1 C5 on drones

Thankfully, the lead game designer has finally commented on the matter and said they are considering changing it sometime in January next year. Here is what they had to say.

It’s quite a lot of work to make that work sadly but this idea came by our mind too. The way we handle C5 and Drone may evolve in the future but we have to make sure we take the right decisions to improve the experience for everyone (short term and long term).

It’s going to be changed but expect somewhere in January.

I know it may sound simple but even things like this are very complex to implement 🙂

Nonetheless, we will be keeping an eye out and update this article when on when Battlefield 2042 developers fix the issue where players are unable to jump and balance the C5 Drone.
