New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on November 29, 2021) follows:

EA’s Battlefield 2042 is the latest and one of the worst installments in the much-celebrated Battlefield franchise.

Since its release on November 19, the game has already infested by several bugs and issues that make it impossible to enjoy what it has to offer. Nonetheless, the developers at Dice already seem to be working hard to fix the game.

Battlefield 2042 players unable to ADS

But despite their best efforts, new bugs are still surfacing that affect the gameplay in different ways. Apart from the recent FPS issues that caused the video game to lag, Battlefield 2042 players are reporting another issue where they cannot ADS anymore.

Aim down sights, commonly abbreviated to ADS, is an alternate term for iron sights, which allows people to look through the scope of the gun. Many say that the ADS bug mostly happens when playing Hazard mode.

Players said they were able to ADS when they redeployed, but in game modes like Hazard where players cannot do so, it is impossible for players to aim at all.

(PC) Has anyone had this? It seems to randomly happen to me after getting out of vehicles. I’ve gotten the ADS to come back a few times after spamming a bunch of random inputs (switching weapons, right clicking, etc.) but I haven’t found a consistent workaround.

The ADS bug in Hazard is endemic. I’ve gotten it 5 times in 9 rounds today. It’s raining this mode for my squad. These aren’t the sort of little bugs that can be resolved when DICE gets the time to get to it. These things kill modes. You can’t imagine how frustrating it is when you get pushed and you can no longer aim.

Fortunately, EA Dice Lead Game Designer has acknowledged the issue. However, they did not share any ETA on when it will be fixed.

Yes we’re aware of this, thanks for reporting!

Also, a user on the EA community forum has shared a workaround that seems to be fixing the issue for some.

Battlefield 2042 M44 Magnum reloads only 5 rounds

In addition to the aforementioned bug, players are complaining (1,2,3,4,5) that the M44 Magnum reloads only 5 rounds instead of 5 rounds. While this is not a game breaking bug, it is really frustrating for those who use the weapon in a game where every shot counts.

What’s interesting is that the animation shows that all 6 bullets are getting reloaded but when it completes, only 5 rounds show up. Many are frustrated and wondering how bugs like these make it to the stable release.

If you shoot all 6 of your shots, when you reload you’ll only actually reload 5 bullets. They put effort into the M28’s first reload using the spare mag but didn’t realize the revolver was working as a mag fed weapon. Do they not play test at all?
(Source)

Reloading an empty M44 plays an animation of all 6 bullets being loaded. However only 5 bullets will be in the gun, meaning you have to reload it again if you want to have 6 bullets loaded. This shouldn’t be the case for a revolver, please fix this!

Fortunately, EA has acknowledged the bug, but again, shared no ETA on when it will be fixed.

That’s not intended no, a bug that we’re aware of and fixing too 🙂

As always, we will keep an eye out on the matter and update this article once Battlefield 2042 developers fix the ADS and M44 Magnum issues.

Update 1 (December 09)

The lead game designer at DICE said that they are still working on resolving the ADS issue. Once again, there is no ETA on when it will be fixed.

We’re working on resolving that issue, it’s a pretty big one that our engineers are looking at right now.

Update 2 (March 19)

Battlefield 2042 players are still reporting issues with ADS. It looks like the developers forgot to fix the bug.

This is still broken EA, as I’ve just ran up a rather nice portal server to find the experience is still screwed due to this months old bug!!. Come on guys, if ADS isn’t considered critical to an FPS game then what is!!!
