[Nov 19: TOTW bug] FIFA 22 Ones to Watch pre-order packs not giving OTW players after opening acknowledged, issue under investigation

FIFA 22 is the latest title in the long-running EA FIFA franchise. The game is available on the PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and the Switch. The game is developed by EA Canada and published by Electronic Arts.

Despite the game offering noticeable visual changes, EA’s HyperMotion technology will only be available on the PS5, Google Stadia, and the Xbox Series S/X. Still, a lot of FIFA enthusiasts have already pre-ordered the game.

EA FIFA 22 is available in two editions, namely – Ultimate and EA Play Pro. While both feature the core game, the Ultimate Edition offers Untradeable Ones to Watch Player and player item. But it looks like those who order the FIFA 22 Ultimate Edition are facing some issues.

According to recent user reports, many FIFA 22 players say they were able to open the OTW Pack before its scheduled release and got a gold player instead of the OTW player.

Many are frustrated with EA since they bought the Ultimate Edition because they wanted an OTW player. The recently released Madden 22 also had issues with pre-order rewards.

Having said that, players say that the pack came with instructions that specified that it should not be opened after October 1, 2021, 17:00 UTC. But players said they were able to open the pack before the mentioned date.

Sad times when you spend £90 on fifa 22 and get told you will get a #OTW pack. You see it in your packs open it and get a gold card I don’t read small print and got to excited. Sorry @EASPORTSFIFA but you promised me I would get one please help me out in fixing the issue.

After spending a stupid amount on fifa 22 this year was because I wanted a chance of getting a otw and just having fun. Well, @EASPORTSFIFA you only went and released the pack early and we all received a gold card. Compensate by giving us walkouts

Those who already opened the pack wondered if EA would compensate them in any way. As it turns out, EA is indeed aware of the issue and said that a fix will be coming soon. In the meantime, EA said they have disabled the pack.

If you are someone who opened the pack before its intended time, EA will compensate you by giving you another OTW pack. Many are angry with EA since they say those who have already opened the pack are getting an additional gold player at no cost.

We think EA should compensate those who did not open their pack with a Gold Player too. When EA releases a fix for the FIFA 22 OTW Pack, we will update this article so make sure you keep an eye out for further updates.

9:30 am (IST): EA’s FIFA support team confirmed that FIFA 22 players will now be able to open OTW Pre-Order Player Packs with correct items.

Moreover, the company sent a new Pack for those players who have opened it previously and it can be accessed via FUT Store. If this issue is still not resolved then you should exit and re-enter the FUT.

OTW Pre-Order Player Packs can now be opened, and will contain the correct Items. If you still see an error, exit and re-enter FUT.

Players who previously opened their Pack have been sent a new one that can be opened via the FUT Store.

5:59 pm (IST): EA support posted a tweet confirming that they are aware some players didn’t get the OTW packs they earned when they were sent out on Friday. A fix for the issue is in the works but there’s no ETA.

5:35 pm (IST): Earlier, players were reporting (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) that they are not receiving the correct Player Pick from their Elite Division Rivals Rewards.

Luckily, the issue should now be resolved and players should get the correct picks according to an official status update on the matter.

We’re currently investigating reports that some players did not receive the correct Player Pick from their Elite Division Rivals Rewards. Eligible players claiming their rewards from now should have no problems. (Source)
