Verizon is one of the largest US telecommunication services. They are also one of the earliest adopters of 5G technology. A few months ago, the network provider launched its first-ever commercial private 5G network known as On Site 5G.

Apart from this, Verizon also offers some nifty tools that have proved to be useful for many. One such app is the Verizon Message+ app on the PC.

In case you are unaware, the Verizon Message+ app on Windows 10 allows users to sync their text conversations across all devices. It also has some advanced features like Driving mode and Group Chat.

The app is free-to-use for those on the Verizon network. Having said that, lately, many are experiencing an issue with the Message+ app for Windows 10.

Users say that they received a message from Verizon stating that the Verizon Message+ app will not be supported after October 1, 2021.

Those using will need to make the switch to the latest version of the app. However, upon installing the latest version, the Message+ shows an error that says they are not running the latest version of the app.

I have the same issue. I have used the Message+ app for years on Windows and iOS. I deleted the app on all my devices, removed registered devices from the Verizon Messages web portal. I installed the current version of Verizon Messages from the Microsoft Store. I am still experiencing the “ERROR! Please download the latest version of Message+ from the app store in your primary device and try again.” Verizon support, please help!

I got the same notice and thought it was a hoax and sent it to [email address removed per the Verizon Terms of Service]. Have heard nothing back, but today Message+ quit working on my Windows 10 PC with the same error message about not having the latest version on my primary device. I’ve reloaded on all devices and still does not work on the PC.

Verizon Customer support then went on to say that the Message+ app is no longer supported on Windows 10 and that there is nothing they could do to help.

We totally understand, JR5353. We are very sorry, but if it is not working on your PC, then there is nothing that can be done. Are you wanting to use that service on your phone or tablet?

But one user who is allegedly in touch with the Verizon Message Apps team said they are currently investigating the issue and working on a fix.

If this is true, maybe there is a lack of communication between Verizon Customer support and the app development team, since a new version of the app has been released recently.

Or, on the contrary, it could also be possible that the user was given the wrong information by support.

Right now, it is unclear if the Verizon Messages+ app if compatibility issue will be resolved (like the customer support is claimed to have shared) or it will be discontinued.

There seems to be a disconnect between VZ Customer Support and the VZM Team (support for Verizon Message Apps). I have been actively communicating with the VZM Team via e-mail about the issue with the current Windows 10 App. They state “We are aware of this issue and working on it. We will update you ASAP.” It’s not that nothing more can be done. It seems that there is not good interaction between VZ Customer Support and VZM Team.
