If you a part of the Google ecosystem, you must definitely have used Google Maps at some point in time. The product is one of the most used and popular tools used by more than 154 million users every month.

The Mountain View-based tech giant has combined all its satellite imagery from Google Earth that amounts to 21 petabytes and uses this information in Google Maps.

Having said that, the maps service frequently adds some new features. However, this results in Google maps becoming buggy at times.

Recently, some Google Maps users complained that the search function was not working properly while others said that the ‘Extend Line’ option was missing.

Last year, some users reported that Google Maps was no longer printing comments when they tried printing the map. A Platinum Product Expert had confirmed that the comments entered in the “You can enter your notes here” were not appearing when they tried printing the map.

BEEN MONTHS NOW – PLEASE FIX THIS !!!! As we return to office after covid and print directions for executives/staff, we need our notes/comments to be included with the map directions – ie GATE ENTRY CODES, CONTACT NAMES, PH NUMBERS, etc. For some reason since NOV2020 (that was SEVEN months ago) the notes/comments disappear when you hit “print” button.

Still having the same issue after a year. Please bring it back! We use the notes for business purposes when sharing travel costs with purchasing departments!

As a result, users said they had to resort to other map providers. Google had acknowledged the issue back in December of 2020 and said they were working on a fix. But there was no update on the matter in the following months.

Hi there, Thanks for flagging this to us. We are aware of the issue and are working on the fix!

Now, some are saying that the issue has been resolved. A Google Platinum Product Expert that Google had started rolling out a fix for the Maps printing comments issue with Chrome 94 with the latest version bring Chrome 95.

Hi all, From what I’m told, this issue should now be resolved from Chrome version 94. I’m running Chrome Version 95.0.4638.54 (Official Build) (x86_64) on a MacBook Pro. Thank you.(Source)

For those still facing the bug, make sure your Chrome is updated to the latest version. However, it seems like Google took away the ability to add more than one line of notes.

We are still having issues printing multiple sentences in the notes section. If we could add a page break it would work or something so that the text in the message can wrap and be seen on the print out.

I am now able to add one line of notes. However, it does not have the original capability where I could add multiple lines of notes and use Ctrl+B to bold if needed.

We hope Google restores the ability to print multiple lines in a future update. Till then, Google Maps users will have to suffice with just one line when printing comments.

If and when they do, we will update this story to let you know so make sure you keep checking for more information.
