Zerodha users are again complaining about the service being down and not working. Specifically, this time Kite customers are reporting failure in placing orders. Here are some reports:

For its part, the company – which claims to be “India’s first discount broker offering the lowest, cheapest brokerage rates in the industry” – has confirmed the problem of delay in order execution on Kite.

More information has been provided on the service’s website.

You may not be able to place fresh orders on Kite. We are looking into the issue and it will be resolved shortly. We regret the inconvenience caused.

Please note that BO/CO orders have been blocked

Update: 10 AM – We faced a connectivity issue at market opening because of which a few lakh orders piled up and started going to the exchanges with a delay. We have stopped taking fresh orders until the pile is cleared. We regret the inconvenience

Bracket orders (BO) and Cover orders(CO) have been blocked in F&O, Equity and CDS. Cover orders have been blocked for MCX

New update regarding funds:

You may not be able to view the available funds in your account on your Coin/Kite dashboard. You can check your fund balances on Console (https://console.zerodha.com/). Your orders will go through as long as you have the funds available in your account.

Another update from the company:

Due to the earlier connectivity issues, all intraday Equity and F&O positions will be squared off at 3:00 PM for NSE and BSE. Please plan your trades accordingly

Zerodha now says the order placement issue has been completely resolved.

Zerodha is again having issues today. A lot of users are complaining. The company has acknowledged the problem saying:

You may face an issue with order placement on Kite. We are working on it and the issue will be resolved shortly

Update 9 (August 29)

The issue has now been resolved, says Zerodha.

The issue with orders placement is now resolved and you can now place fresh orders

Update 10 (March 18, 2020)

Zerodha users are encountering order placement/processing issues as of writing this. Take a look at some of the reports:

Update 11 (March 18, 2020)

There is a known issue with UPI payments going on right now. The order placements issue on BSE has been resolved though.

Issue with funds transfers using UPI
UPI fund transfers are currently experiencing low success rates. We are working with the banks to have this resolved. Please use IMPS/NEFT or payment gateway to add funds in the meantime.

This issue is resolved.
BSE connectivity is down across brokers. Trying placing orders on NSE. We will update you when the connection is back up.

While the order processing issues were resolved in a few hours, the losses that Zerodha users had to bear because of the glitch, there is a long list of complaints about that on Twitter. Here are some for you to take a quick look at:

Update 14 (March 20, 2020)

While reverting back to one of the complainants regarding order processing, here is what Zerodha recently said:

We have a banner up showing it’ll be delayed on the account opening page in the end. We’re working hard, most accounts should be opened this weekend.

FWIW offline procedures have been paused. Also to those facing delays in opening account, here’s what Zerodha has to say:

there has been a surge in account opening requests due to which there is a delay in the process. Please note that we’ve been working hard to open all the accounts as soon as possible

Update 15 (April 13, 2020)

Zerodha is down and not working and service users aren’t able to login as of writing this. Apart from Down detector that conveys the service outage, the following are some of the reports on Twitter:

Update 16 (April 13, 2020)

Zerodha has officially acknowledged the issue saying:

There is a temporary issue with fresh logins on Kite. Order placement, etc., are working fine for logged in users. We are working on having this resolved at the earliest. We regret the inconvenience.

Update 17 (April 13, 2020)

The login glitch has now been resolved.

This issue has been resolved. New logins have been working fine for the last few minutes.

Update 18 (October 25, 2021)

Fresh reports on Twitter suggest that Zerodha is down and not working as many users are left without being able to use the website and the app in some cases. Luckily, the company seems to be working to resolve the issue already.

Some of our users are facing an issue with price updates on the Kite web platform. There are no issues with order placement. We are looking into this and the issue will be resolved soon.
