Original story (published on October 07, 2021) follows:

Battlefield 2042 is an upcoming video game from the Battlefield series that will be released in November this year. It can be played on different gaming platforms including Xbox, PlayStation, and Windows.

This FPS video game will be the successor of Battlefield V and also the first in the series to support cross-platform gameplay.

This game is currently available for testing and it’s no surprise that gamers might often encounter bugs in beta builds. As such, the latest one is where users have reported issues regarding controller on PC.

As per reports, gamers are unable to use the controller while playing Battlefield 2042 on PC. The same thing works completely fine with Battlefield V.

After setting up the controller on PC, the key binding for controllers becomes extremely buggy. When players try to bind controls, it fails to register any keys.

The other case is where gamers are not able to reset controller settings to default on keybinds. Meanwhile, a user managed reset settings to default by deleting the setup file on documents folder on Windows.

Played all the battlefields on consoles, and I recently switched to pc thinking I’d still be able to use my controller on battlefield but it looks like that isn’t the case. It’s just battlefield with the issue too (Source)

My Pc and series s controller work fine on battlefield v but on 2042 the button scheme is all messed up. I can’t press a to get through the first screen and then when I load into game I can’t use any of the buttons correctly. The left and right trigger control the direction I’m looking and a lot of the other buttons don’t do anything.

I really want to try this game out but without a controller I can’t. Any help is appreciated (Source)

Moreover, some console users are also having the same controller binding issues where they can’t find or change the controller settings. These players aren’t able to bind controls which is interrupting their gameplay experience.

Judging from multiple reports (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8), this seems widespread issue which is affecting a large number of users.

However, EA has not yet acknowledged the issues so far, and there are no temporary workarounds available at the moment.

We hope that officials will soon look into this annoying controller issue and fix it as soon as possible.

That said, we will update this space as and when anything new comes to our notice regarding this issue, so stay tuned.

Also, we will be covering all the known issues and live status of Battlefield 2042 beta in our dedicated tracker, so make sure to follow that as well.
