New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on October 04, 2021) follows:

Google entered the VoIP and Broadband Internet space back in February of 2010 with the launch of Google Fiber. It is now part of Alphabet’s Access division.

Available exclusively in the United States, Google Fiber started as an experimental project and now operates in more than 10 cities. It also offers TV services as part of its Fiber 1000 + TV plan.

Like any internet service provider, Google Fiber subscribers also experience some issues every now and then. Recently, some users reported that their internet was slow.

Having said that, subscribers are now reporting a new issue with the service. Some Google Fiber subscribers say that they are unable to watch many channels because of some authentication error.

This is really frustrating since many subscribers have replaced their cable service with Fiber’s TV Everywhere streaming service.

The TV Everywhere service lets users watch live TV or recorded episodes from the channel’s website. The service provides more than 80 channels right now. It comes in really handy since subscribers can watch their favorite shows on the go.

I am getting the following message when trying to watch shows in the Bravo and ABC apps: “User must re-authenticate”. I am able to link to my TV provider (Google Fiber) successfully and I have the most updated version of the apps. Are there authentication issues with TV Everywhere sites and apps? Everything was working fine a couple of days ago.(Source)

Some channels that are affected by the issue include ABC, ESPN, Red Zone, Fox News, NBC, and the Showtime Anytime app. Several others might be affected too.

Users say they have tried using Auto-Authentication, reinstalling the app, and logging in again but it doesn’t seem to be working either. It looks like something is wrong on Google’s end since those who are not on Fiber are not facing the issue.

Fortunately, Google Fiber seems to be aware of the issue and said they are working on fixing the same. However, they did not share any ETA on when the issue will be fixed.

We hope Google resolves the Fiber TV Everywhere authentication issue soon. When they do, we will update this space so make sure you stay tuned for further updates.

Update 1 (October 06)
