YouTube is one of the world’s largest video-sharing platforms. With more than 2 billion monthly active users, people consume more than a billion hours of content every day.
When it comes to YouTube, anyone can be a creator and share their videos using a multitude of devices, with the phone app as one of the easiest ways of upload videos.
The developers over at Google constantly work on bringing new features to the platform and keep on trying different approaches to make it feel fresh.
Given that YouTube is available on every platform and offers a plethora of features, it’s hard to keep track of every bug and issue affecting the service, which explains why we have a dedicated YouTube bug tracker.
Some recent issues affecting YouTube users include the zero revenue bug and an issue that prevents users from posting a comment on videos.
And it looks like we have another one to add to the long list of bugs. According to recent reports, many users say that they are unable to upload videos, shorts, or thumbnails since the upload button is greyed out for them.

Judging by the number of reports, it looks like the YouTube upload button greyed out issue is widespread and affecting a lot of users who are trying to upload videos from their devices.
This is a really serious issue since videos and thumbnails are really important if you want to increase engagement and get more views.
The bug is affecting the revenue of full-time YouTube content creators really hard since they are unable to upload videos to the platform.
Since the greyed-out upload bug surfaced quite recently, Google is yet to acknowledge the issue. Some say restarting the app and phone fixed the bug for them, while others are not so lucky.
We hope Google soon acknowledges the YouTube upload button greyed out the bug and releases a patch fixing the same. When they do so, we will let you know here so make sure you keep an eye out for updates.
