MIUI 12 was easily one of the buggiest updates in the history of MIUI. To address the various problems plaguing it, Xiaomi had to focus big on optimization with the MIUI 12.5 update.

However, MIUI 12.5 has nearly hit almost all of the eligible devices, barring a few budget ones, but complaints of bugs and performance issues are still quite common.

Of course, software plays a major role in the smartphone experience and several serious problems on MIUI 12.5, especially on devices like the Redmi Note 8 Pro and Poco X3 Pro cannot simply be overlooked.

Perhaps this is why Xiaomi has pushed the MIUI 13 release date to the end of the year and has instead introduced MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition in its place for now – an update that is purely meant for optimization and bug fixes.

The listed changelog includes several under-the-hood improvements such as smart algorithms to dynamically allocate system resources, RAM optimization, better background application management, and core system improvements.

The MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition update was announced earlier this month in China for newer flagship and high-end devices alone and no indication of any global rollout had been made at the time.

But that has now changed with an announcement on the global Mi Community. A global rollout has been set to commence from Q4 or October this year to be precise.

Xiaomi Mi 11i
Xiaomi Mi 11X Pro

Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro

Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro
Xiaomi Mi 10

This is only the first batch though and more devices will be added to the list in the future, although info for that has not been made available yet.

The complete changelog for the update has been given below.

1. Swift performance: More life between charges.

2. Focused algorithms: Our new algorithms will dynamically allocate system resources based on specific scenes, ensuring a smooth experience on all models.

3. Atomized memory: Ultra-fine memory management mechanism will make RAM usage more efficient.

4. Liquid storage: New sensitive storage mechanisms will keep your system vibrant and responsive as time goes by.

5. Smart balance: Core system improvements allow your device to make the best of the flagship hardware specs.

That said, we will be keeping tabs on further developments regarding the global release of the MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition update and will be updating our dedicated tracker for the same accordingly, so stay tuned.
