Samsung users are eagerly waiting for the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update which has remained pretty evasive so far.

While many speculations are rife about the OS update, it is unclear what all changes and improvements it is going to bring.

One UI 4.0 beta was going to arrive soon for the Galaxy S21 series but the post was later removed.

Now, another piece of info regarding the next One UI version i.e., One UI 4.0, has come to light from the Samsung community.

A Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ user wanted to know whether the OEM is planning to bring the Sound Assistant support to DeX mode.

Sound Assistant, stylized SoundAssistant, is a sound utility app from Samsung which allows users to easily manage overall sound settings on their Galaxy devices.

While users of Galaxy devices can get the app from the Galaxy Store, not all devices are supported. Also, Sound Assistant does not work with DeX mode for the time being.

However, it is possible that the One UI 4.0 update based on Android 12 might bring Sound Assistant support to DeX mode on Samsung tablets.

This is because a Samsung community moderator responded to the users’ query that the functionality will be reviewed with the next OS update.

It is, however, unclear whether Sound Assistant support will indeed arrive for tablet or other eligible Galaxy devices with One UI 4.0.

Samsung is yet to unveil the One UI 4.0 (Android 12) update and everything is pretty much farfetched at this point.

Only time will tell whether the next OS update from Samsung will indeed bring support for Sound Assistant to DeX mode or not.
