If we talk of video streaming services, the first that might come to your mind is Netflix or Disney Plus. But, HBO Max seems to be making its very own place in this ultra-competitive niche.

With shows like Friends: The Reunion, Made for Love, and others, the service is slowly becoming more popular every day. It is available on all major platforms, including Android and iOS.

But, in the last few weeks, the HBO Max app has been acting quite sus on numerous platforms. It is plagued by various issues such as the app crashing on Roku devices and casting issues on Android and iOS.

Recently, several Android users reported that the app was facing buffering issues, with the app crashing and freezing in some instances.

Users have also complained that the HBO Max Android app even lacks basic features such as screen rotation

This is really absurd, taking into consideration HBO Max requires an expensive monthly subscription.

Others complain that the app crashed on the login page, while others say that the content is not even centered on devices that have a notch.

Some users also claim that the app does not work while on Wifi and gets stuck on the loading screen. But it works as intended when using mobile data.

As a result, hundreds of users have started bombarding the HBO Max Android app on Google Play Store with 1-star reviews.

The app takes a long time to open and a long time to play a movie. I like the content but the app SUCKS! I also downloaded it on my firestick and I can’t tell in which device it runs slower. I already paid the subscription and I can’t even watch anything. I’m not about to wait 30 minutes for every movie to open, so I cancelled it. What a waste of money.

When casting from the app to the television, the app closes when the phone goes to sleep! So if you want to pause it or rewind it for any reason, you have to open the app and it takes 30 seconds to load so if you want to rewind you have to go back 45 seconds! The app shouldn’t close even if the screen sleeps! Contacting customer service is useless! I have tried repeatedly! Too many issues!!!! Not enough room to list! FIX YOUR STUPID APP!!!!

The current average rating of the app has dropped down to 2.7 with 1,07,663 reviews at the time of writing. If this trend continues, it won’t be long before the rating will drop down below 2 stars.

However, even after hundreds of complaints, the company hasn’t acknowledged any of the issues. Having said that, we have no ETA when the issues plaguing the HBO Max Android app will be fixed.

The HBO Max Android app is really bad and we have begun to think that it deserves all the bad reviews on the Play Store.

We hope HBO fixes all the issues in the coming days so users can enjoy their favorite content again.
