However, users of this build have recently added another issue related to apps crashing to the bugs and issues list.

As per reports from the Google IssueTracker, it seems that Gmail and some other apps start crashing after a few seconds on the Android 12 beta 1 update.

While the issue has already been passed on to the development team, users have figured out a way to fix it.

According to several comments on the IssueTracker thread, disabling and re-enabling Android System WebView after uninstalling its updates appears to be fixing the crashing issue for users.

The said workaround does not only work for Gmail but also fixes the problem for other apps as well.

So, if you are facing the said crashing issue with Gmail or other apps on Android 12 beta 1, be sure to try this simple workaround.

This got fixed after uninstalling and reinstalling (enabling) webview from playstore. All apps seem to be working fine now.

Since the upcoming OS update is still under testing, it is only natural for such issues to occur as long as they get fixed by the final build.

It is also possible that the next Android 12 beta update might address the existing bugs and issues. However, this is still based on our speculation.
