Original story (published on March 10, 2021) follows:

Up until now, we’ve been relying on information available from carrier software update schedules to know when certain LG devices will get the update to Android 11.

Matter of fact, earlier today we reported that the LG Velvet 5G is scheduled to bag the Android 11 update on March 26 based on information shared by Fido.

The company usually shares software update details with the public as it did for the update to Android 10 last year.

And even though Android 11 has been out for months, LG has only now revealed its schedule for the release of Android 11 on the LG Velvet 5G/4G, LG G8X/S, LG WING, LG K52, and LG K42.

This Android 11 update schedule has been posted on the company’s official website for Germany and was brought to our attention by one of our readers. Here’s a screenshot of the same:

According to the official schedule, the LG Velvet 5G will get the update to Android 11 by April. The LG G8X is scheduled to bag the update in the second quarter of the year.

The LG Velvet 4G and the LG G8S will get it in the third quarter of the year. Finally, the LG WING, LG K52, and LG K42 are going to get the update in the fourth quarter of the year.

The company is currently testing Android 11 for all these models as highlighted in the status section of the table that has been shared.

Of course, this Android 11 schedule is likely specific for LG phones sold in Germany, however, the update may be released in other regions around the same time.

Now that LG has officially shared its Android 11 timeline, users won’t have to take it upon themselves to guess when the update would go live for their device.

As usual, we’ll keep an eye out for all developments regarding the Android 11 update for LG smartphones and will regularly update our dedicated tracker with the latest information.

Many thanks for the tip, Dr. Kaushik Natarajan!
