[Updated] Oppo Reno2 F Android 11 (ColorOS 11) Open beta early access program goes live in India
New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on January 24, 2021) follows:
Like many other OEMs, Oppo has been hard at work, developing, testing and rolling out Android 11 to eligible devices over the past several weeks.
We have been closely following the development in this front and you can check out our dedicated Oppo Android 11 tracker for the state of ColorOS 11 on eligible devices.
Today, the company is taking yet another step towards the full rollout of its Android 11-based ColorOS 11 to its eligible devices with some development involving the Oppo Reno2 F.
The Reno2 F was first unveiled back in October 2019 and at first glance, it is not winning any contests. It is powered by the Mediatek Helio P70 chip and ran Android 9 Pie-based ColorOS 6.1 out of the box.
Since then, the device has received fairly regular updates and it currently runs on Android 10-based ColorOS 7.
But hopefully not for long as today, the company is inviting users of the Oppo Reno2 F that would like to be part of the Android 11 Beta testing program ahead of the official rollout of the stable release.
This invitation is going out to owners of the Reno2 F in India for now and to be part of the early adopters, you have until January 26 to apply for one of the limited available slots.
Beta version is set for Reno2 F, and this batch is in India (other regions please stay tuned to ColorOS Community News).
To sign up for a spot in this Reno2 F Android 11 Beta program, you’ll first need to ensure that you’re running the current latest software on your Reno2 F, which at the time of writing is C.17.
You’ll then need to:
Click ‘Settings’>> ‘Software Update’>> Click the settings icon on the screen>> Apply for Beta Version>>Update Beta Version. And then follow the guide to apply. （If the application quota is full, please wait for the next round）
Update 1 (February 11)
05:30 pm (IST): Oppo Care India has responded to a user’s query by letting them know that the ColorOS 11 update for the Oppo Reno2 F is rolling out in batches for the device. However, we’d suggest taking this information with a grain of salt since we have not come across any user reports.
Update 2 (March 11)
15:13 pm (IST): Users of the Oppo Reno2 F in India are an excited batch after oppo announced the availability of Android 11-based ColorOS 11 for their device. Wider rollout is still slated for March 16. More on that here.
NOTE: We have these and many more Oppo stories in our dedicated Oppo section so stay tuned.
