[Update: Jan. 27] Poco X2 Android 11 stable update with January security patch goes live (Download link inside)

New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on January 22, 2021) follows:

Good news, Poco X2 users! The Android 11 update which everyone has been waiting so eagerly for quite some time has finally gone live. The update carries a size of 2.4GB and comes with version number 12.1.2.0.RGHINXM.

This is as per several excited Poco X2 users that have taken to social media to announce that they have finally bagged the update.

The update has also brought about the January security patch which is a cherry on top. This was released following the internal beta testing in China, just like every other Xiaomi device is.

It is worth mentioning here that the device was slated to receive the update way sooner than this. Xiaomi had announced back in July 2020, when Android 11 wasn’t even out yet, that the Poco X2 was going to receive it shortly.

However, fast forward to January 2021, and it’s only now that the update has finally hit the device. Xiaomi clearly messed up some stuff but it’s unclear as to what exactly happened behind the scenes.

It’s still a mystery as to why Xiaomi made such an announcement knowing very well that it’s close to impossible for them to do so. But hey, now that it’s finally here, it’s okay to simply forgive and forget.

Anyway, here’s the download link for the Poco X2 Android 11 update zip as promised:

      • Device: Poco X2
      • Codename: phoenix
      • Channel: India Stable
      • Version: V12.1.2.0.RGHINXM
      • Android: 11
        • Type: Recovery
          • Download: Link

The update also brings about a couple of changes as shown in the release notes:

      [System]
      – Optimization: Noise could be heard when the screen was turned off in some cases
      – Updated Android Security Patch to January 2021. Increased system security.
      – Stable MIUI based on Android 11

With that being said, we have curated an Android 11 update tracker for all major OEMs and carriers. The piece is an information behemoth so be sure to go through it as well.

Moreover, we have also created a separate update tracker for devices like the Poco X2 following the emergence of Poco as an independent brand. You are free to give it a read.

      Update (January 27)

Multiple Poco X2 users are experiencing various issues after the recent update to Android 11. See the full story here.
