Xiaomi Android 11 devices get a new camera panel in latest MIUI 12 update; “Beautify for Video Calls” section for others

Xiaomi has been steadily working on its Android 11 update while also improving the in-house custom skin i.e. MIUI 12.

The development of MIUI 12 beta has been on for quite some time while several Xiaomi devices have even received it based on Android 11.

Now, a new closed beta build recently arrived in China, bringing along several improvements to the MIUI Camera app.

The MIUI 12 beta update version 20.11.6 offers a new camera panel to Android 11 eligible devices while some devices get the “Beautify for video calls” option.

Basically, the latest update offers a redesigned camera panel UI to improve the accessibility along with some new options to enhance the user experience.

Users can now select between two options namely “More” tab and “More” panel to arrange camera modes in the MIUI Camera app panels.

Also, the More section of the camera UI offers a new style with redesigned icons for different modes making it more interactive.

Apart from that, some devices now have the “Beautify for video calls” option under the additional camera settings.

These changes are currently meant for those who are running the beta version of MIUI 12 on their devices. And that too only in China.

It is also unclear when the latest improvements and features will hit the stable channel. Meanwhile, you can have a look at the redesigned camera UI from the latest MIUI 12 beta update in the video given below.

There are only a handful of devices, including the Mi 10 series and Redmi K30 Pro, that have received the Android 11 beta stable update while a wider rollout of the same is still awaited.

That said, we are constantly tracking the development of Xiaomi Android 11 and MIUI 12 updates so stay tuned to get the latest updates on the topics.

Moreover, we have curated a consolidated Android 11 update tracker for all major OEMs and carriers so be sure to check it out.
